Laminated volleyballs offer superior performance due to their consistent roundness, predictable flight, and longer lifespan. They are preferred for competitive play and intensive training. Sewn volleyballs are more common in entry-level or recreational models, where affordability is a priority. Sewn balls are the currently the only viable option for beach volleyball, because heat and moisture do not allow for usage of lamination technology. For players who value control, touch, and reliability for indoor volleyball play, laminated volleyballs are the better long-term investment.
